Our Members First initiative strives to deliver the ongoing advantages of our building society status to members.
Brief history
The Coventry Permanent Economic Building Society was founded in 1884 by a small group of citizens, one of whom was Thomas Mason Daffern, who became the Society's first secretary.
By the beginning of the First World War, the Economic as it was known, had become the largest building society in the area in terms of assets. Since merging with the Stroud and Swindon building society in 2010 The Coventry has 1.5 million members and 91 branches in the West Midlands and South West England.

The Coventry offers a range of easy access savings accounts that give you a great rate of interest on your money and instant access whenever you need it.
If you don’t need the money for a while then one of our Bonds or Notice accounts are ideal for boosting your savings.
To gain a great return on your savings, you can invest up to £5,340 in one of our tax-free ISAs. You get to keep all of the interest!
We also provide children’s savings accounts that encourage responsible saving for the future, solely managed, offering cash or cheque withdrawals in branch.
Mortgages
Turning your dream of owning your own home can be made a reality with one of our own 90% loan to value first time buyer mortgages.
If you wish to move property or change mortgage we have a choice of great value, straightforward, flexible and fixed rate mortgages that give you the assurance you need.
Additionally, we have a range of buy to let mortgages that are designed to suit your circumstances whether you’re an experienced or first time landlord.
