Counselling provides you with the opportunity to talk through a particular problem, without being interrupted or judged. It offers you a safe environment in which to explore emotional issues that may be making you unhappy or making life difficult. It can help you to clarify your thoughts, sort out your feelings and make decisions with which you can live in harmony.
It can also offer a chance to look at past hurts, deal with bereavement or other loss, such as that of a job, home or partner. It offers a chance to talk about anger without the risk of "losing control" or hurting others. Sometimes making decisions can be daunting, talking it through can help to clear your mind and the "right" decision becomes obvious. For some people it is the first chance they have to feel and express grief, often carried for many years.
