Cotton Monsters are a unique creation from Baltimore artist Jennifer Strunge. These all cotton monsters are composed of recycled clothing, blankets and sheets. Each monster is created without the use of patterns and are evoked from the imagination of the artist as a work of art, making it so that no two monsters are alike.

Sizes

Because each Cotton Monster is unique, the sizing varies, but generally they come in a couple of size ranges.

Little Monsters -- Stand around 7" to 9" tall, with an arm spread of 13-15".

Big Monsters -- The larger monsters stand at around 14" tall, with 17" of arm span. These monsters have mouths that you can reach inside to hide treasures or just amuse friends.

About the Artist

Jennifer Strunge is a recent graduate from Maryland Institute College of Art. In addition to drawing, printing, quilting and monsters, she works for Black Cherry Puppet Theater bringing art and puppetry programs to schools and rec. centers in the city and beyond.

Featured Text -- AboutUs has been invaded by monsters. Oh, sure, they're cute and oh-so cuddly and made of recycled clothing blankets and sheets, but the monsters are deviously -- ah, never mind the set-up -- they're just cute and oh-so cuddly. Created by a Baltimore artist and available via CottonMonster.com, these plush monsters are now a favorite in the AboutUs office. Two have already joining the ranks of the AboutUs Staff, with several more staff members already plotting their own Cotton Monster purchases. Because each Cotton Monster is hand-made without a pattern and evoked from the imagination of the artist, each one is not only unique, but seems to be be infused with quirks and personalities as well. Cotton Monster come in small and larger sizes, with the large one featuring a pocket-like mouth for storing army men, secret stores of candy or just having your Cotton Monster pretend to eat your arm.
