Dogs, cats, horses ... this has been Sue’s life and her love since she was old enough to speak. Sue grew up with a deep love of animals instilled by her parents. She has worked professionally with dogs for over 30 years, working in and owning grooming shops and kennels. During these years, she has continued to develop a rapport with dogs. Sue’s skills in handling dogs and her understanding and love of dogs are extraordinary.
Richard also grew up with parents who shared their love of animals with him. From a very early age, Richard became interested in training animals. His brother, Colorado’s Equine Vet of the Year 2004, bred horses and Richard trained them. Richard became more interested in working with dogs and left the horse shows to focus on dog obedience training. His dogs were very successful at the matches and soon he was training professionally.
Cotati Dog Boarding is the realization of the Harris’ vision of a day care and boarding facility that would be the happiest possible place for a dog to stay, a place where a dog can be a dog. The Harris’ understand that because of their pack instinct, feeling alone is very difficult for a dog. Therefore, the happiest possible environment meant a place where dogs could run, wrestle, and play with other dogs or just explore off-leash, until the day was over. In addition, the dogs would have access to indoor areas so they could come in for a nap on a cushy bed if they wished, and they would be cared for by dog-loving humans at all times.
