REVIEW OF CORTICET
Corticet is a product which uses a cortisol lowering approach, an approach which has been saturating the market lately. There was no information available about the manufacturer of this product on the website, which we found a bit disturbing. It is always helpful when it comes to nutritional supplements in general, and weight loss supplements in particular, to have information about the manufacturer to evaluate the product. Cortisol is a stress related hormone which is believed to create weight gain in some people, and has been targeted as a source of belly fat. Most cortisol lowering supplements use similar ingredients with slight variations in the formulary; we believe that Corticet is more of the same. However, we will investigate this product in order to discern if it is indeed different from the rest, as its advertising suggests.

REVIEW OF Corticet
Corticet is yet another “stress relieving, cortisol lowering” product to enter the market. This product and many like it claim to generate weight loss through unconventional methods. While these supplements have achieved some popularity due to their “enticing marketed benefits”, they have yet to be rigorously tested, and it can not be proven that these methods will lead to the actual loss of fat. Cortisol is a stress related hormone which is believed to create weight gain in some people, and has been targeted as a source of belly fat. Most cortisol lowering supplements use similar ingredients with slight variations in the formulary; we believe that Corticet is more of the same. However, we will investigate this product in order to discern if it is indeed different from the rest, as its advertising suggests. We would like to be able to list the all the ingredient in Corticet, but unfortunately we couldn’t, because they are not available. We did extensive research, as well as contacting the manufacturer via the website, and still we were unsuccessful in getting this information. We found this to be unconscionable and disconcerting, it is very important that the ingredients of such products be clearly listed so consumers will know what exactly they are taking, and not ordering on blind faith or desperation. As mentioned earlier, no ingredients are listed for this product, the secrecy around the formula, should in no way be taken as an indication of the viability of this product. The website does indicate that Corticet contains “Caffeine and Herbal Stimulants”, but unfortunately it does not disclose the exact herbs involved. Caffeine is found in a number of weight loss supplements, since it is purported to burn fat and suppress the appetite. Though, we do find it odd that it would be included in a formula advertised for its calming benefits. Caffeine is a well known stimulant and is likely to create the very opposite of the advertised calming benefits. In fact, nutritionists do not recommend the ingestion of dietary supplements containing caffeine since they have been shown to cause adverse side effects, such as jitteriness, nausea and insomnia. We would like to note that it is unlikely this supplement contains either a modern appetite suppressant like the herb Hoodia Gordonii or a non-stimulant, patented fat burner like Advantra-Z. Ultimately, we never recommend a supplement before thoroughly reviewing the entire ingredients list. It is disappointing that this company does not provide this essential information to consumers, which is necessary so they can avoid possible allergic reaction and potential health risks.
