Corfin Industries opened for business on May 5, 1991. We employed three people and maintained a 2,500 square foot facility. Since opening, we have grown in three separate expansions to over 30,000 square feet with 65 employees running three shifts a day, as required, to satisfy our customers’ requirements. We have invested over $10,000,000 into equipment, facilities, and security systems to provide the best possible quality, processes, delivery, response time, and security available. These efforts have distinguished our company as unique in its field and far distanced us from the "Mom and Pop" or "Garage" operations of yesterday. Our business plan is to fill the void between the semiconductor and electronic industries by performing the preparation of components for printed circuit board assembly. Furthermore, we want to do it as a profit center by identifying and providing the value stream, designing the solution for our customers, not asking them for it, and helping them secure more business by giving their customers what they want. This allows the semiconductor manufacturers to provide a turn key device to their customers, proliferate more business, and incur no yield loss due to our zero defect guarantee. It allows the electronic manufacturers to design in a turn key device from the manufacturer’s data sheet, have no secondary work to perform and the ease of assembly as the devices are received in matrix trays or tape and reel ready for automatic pick and place.
In order to satisfy the semiconductor manufacturing industry, we had to design, develop, and build fully automatic equipment capable of completely integrating trim and form, vision alignment, inspection, and solder coating functions. This was critical for us in order to provide the zero defect guarantee and to give our potential customers the confidence to move forward. Therefore, we built the LRT-2020 trim, form and solder coating system to begin the first phase of our business. After building out our processing facilities with all the necessary ESD temperature and humidity controls and receiving our first two systems, we began to secure business and grow rapidly. During the next ten years, we enhanced the equipment design to include lead inspection, positioning, and scanning before, during, and after processing and improved all aspects of conveyance and process module controls. The new machines are called LTR-3000 systems. We were asked to become more diversified and have expanded our services to include scanning, fine and gross leak testing, marking, bar code labeling, tape and reel, lead reconditioning, kitting, and more.
