Component Designs, Inc. was started back in the early 90's, our goal was to develop database driven applications and custom components with Visual Basic and C. Visual Basic wasn't very popular at that time and many companies weren't interested in our services. Thankfully it didn't take long for business to pick up on Visual Basic and in 1993 we were subcontracted to create a Home and Small office remodeling software package and "The Quantum Leap Estimator" (QLE) was born. QLE was a huge success and opened many doors for us. By the mid 90's we started developing components for Borland Delphi. Dr. Igi was an office style assistant it turned into a huge success both here in the US and in Europe.
By the late 90's Borland Delphi no longer had as large a following and we again shifted our focus into two areas, n-tired client/server development with Visual Basic and Internet e-Commerce. We worked on a number of excellent web sites, including NFL.com, Girlson.com, Bolt.com, DLJ.com and our own video game site WiredLounge.com.
In late 2002 we again needed to regroup and redirect the company. Internet development had come to a screeching halt, but the client/server market was still going strong. At the same time the release of .NET and our prior expertise in component development seemed like a match made in heaven. As with everything in time, we've come full circle and again we are back to our roots doing what we love to do.
