A Brief History of the Colony Mill
The Faulkner and Colony Woolen Mill produced the finest garments for the Union troops during the Civil War, and the Allied forces during the World World Wars I and II. In addition, the Mill served scores of civilian companies and families until it closed its doors in 1953.
At the time of its closing, the Faulkner and Colony Woolen Mill was the second oldest textile mill to operate continuously under the same management, in the same location, in the United States.
