I am a Small Breeder only 100 birds and 8 Years of Experience Specializing in Cockatiels Normal to Rare Mutations All birds get banded, this is my own band.
I have been breeding Cockatiels for over 11 years. It started when we visited an pet store to buy a pet. We picked out a Cinnamon Pearl/lutino, and a Pied. This was a Xmas present to me from my husband. Most of my birds are babies of babies of babies, from these two birds.
After visiting a aviary in Porterville, CA which we drove by, I decided that I wanted to raise Cockatiels. So I started looking for older birds for breeders, reading as many books that I could find on how to. Went back to that aviary and purchased one female from them that they told me was a male, and of course after the first clutch of babies I was hooked. I have always been interested in the mutations. I'm always looking for something new. The Whiteface are a favorite of mine and I have ended up with Whiteface pearls. Then along came the Yellowface, from Germany, I purchased two of those, and then I heard of the Pastelface and the Dominant Silver from England, of course, they are on my wish list. And, this year of 2003 I have purchased 2 Silvers, both are Male Dominant Silver. I have named Casper and Whiteknight and in a two years will be old enough to breed.
