Description
WTCUFG is more than a nonprofit organization, it is a family born of tragedy and united in strength and purpose. Since our inception, WTCUFG has developed and offered a slate of innovative peer support programs and information resources for those changed forever on September 11, 2001. Our extensive efforts are highlighted throughout our news archives.
Our peer support programs are designed to promote healing by empowering individuals directly affected by uniting them through their shared experience. Through this connection we hope to instill self confidence and foster friendships that continue outside of our programs. In the years since the September 11th attacks, we’ve learned that grief is unique and individual to each person who experiences it and yet there can be a common bond that makes it universal and shared.
Our organization is governed by families of the September 11th victims, a survivor of the attacks, a national crime victims’ advocate and a licensed mental health professional. In addition to being experts in the September 11th experience, our board of directors and staff have many years of combined experience in corporate management. Our executive director, Anthony Gardner, earned a Masters Certificate in Nonprofit Organization Management in May 2005 from Seton Hall University.
