Canyonlands Natural History Association Home Page
Description
Canyonlands Natural History Association (CNHA) was formed in 1967 as a nonprofit organization assisting the education and visitor service efforts of the National Park Service (NPS), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the USDA Forest Service in southeast Utah.
Bookstore sales support the agencies' educational, interpretive and scientific programs in many ways, including new publications, free brochures, educational seminars, as well as funding research and facilities. CNHA's goals include enhancing every visitor's understanding and appreciation of the public lands by providing a thorough selection of quality, educational materials. All sales items have been selected and approved by a rigorous review process managed by CNHA and the three federal agencies.
People protect what they understand and appreciate. With visitor use demands escalating and agency funding declining, the role of cooperating associations to assist in the educational process will continue to expand.
