It amazes me, but I seem to get many requests from visitors who want to know who I am so, here is an attempt to share with you some facts about me.
Once Upon a time, I was voted the cutest cowgirl and sat on Hopalong Cassidy's horse, Topper (that's me in front and my sister Janie is behind me). I was a Star, and I guess that it was my 15 minutes of fame, because I sure haven't won any beauty contests since then. This was taken at the fourth annual Delaware County Horse Show and Country Fair held at Wyola Farms, Newtown Square, PA, the estate of Mr. & Mrs. Frank L. O'Brien, Jr. Trophies were awarded by The Bulletin (the Philadelphia evening newspaper, at the time). The man standing next to the horse is Uncle Pete Boyle who had a children's program on TV at the time. His son is the movie actor Peter Boyle. I still have the trophy and the picture, which I cherish.
By the way, the picture right is of Hopalong Cassidy, who was played by William Boyd on the screen and on TV, with his horse Topper. I put this picture here to show you that I was indeed sitting on the REAL Topper in the picture above. There are web sites devoted to Hopalong Cassidy and here is a link to the official site:
