Description

Cielo (Chey-lo) Blu Cane Corso, Italian for "Blue Sky", was established in June 1996 by Darryl A. Featherstone. According to Featherstone, "The Cane Corso is a majestic breed and a true Cane Corso exudes confidence and valor while maintaining a servant like mentality towards his/her owner. These characteristics possessed by the breed must be preserved through careful and selective breeding. Because this breed ranges in such a variety of sizes and colors depending upon it's use, the breeder's objectives must be clearly defined.

After observing the finest representations of the Cane Corso in the United States, Featherstone came to the conclusion that the dogs that best represented the breed were DiGuardia's Dual Champion Prince Del Cerberus, imported to the U.S. in March 1995, and Champion Rocco, the first Cane Corso purchased by Belmonte Cane Corso. Thus, the first dog owned by Cielo Blu was a daughter of Diguardia's Prince. In addition, Cielo Blu owns a son of Ch. Rocco of Belmonte. Both of which are direct offspring of these two famous and foundational Cane Corsos. (See pictures of these dogs on this page) Only dogs that have proven working ability and are of authentic Italian ancestry have/will be used to further the legacy of Cielo Blu Cane Corso.
