A friend once questioned, upon seeing my perusal of a recently acquired antiquarian volume, if I preferred these old books because of their age, or their content. I replied, �both��explaining that while there exists many fine contemporary Christian writers, I feel a particular �kindredness� with my �Fathers of the Faith� who lived, preached, ministered and wrote long ago. It was a time unincumbered by the various distractions the world offers today.
