- The Chambersburg Bible Church was organized in October of 1952, by a group of believers who withdrew from a local church due to the increasing domination of modernistic doctrine. As independent Baptists, they formed a congregation known as the Chambersburg Bible Church. The group met in homes and various locations from 1952 until 1958. At this time the group had a part-time pastor, but the need had become apparent to begin actively seeking a full-time minister. In August, 1958, a letter was drafted to Pastor John R. Springer extending a call to become the first full-time minister of the Chambersburg Bible Church. Pastor Springer arrived on October the 8th to undertake the leadership and guidance of the congregation. As the congregation continued to grow, so did the need for a church building. In 1962, the church moved to 2011 Scotland Avenue, and increasing attendance led to an annex in 1970. In 1978, after much prayer, a site was located for the building of a new and larger facility to accommodate the church's continued growth. Our present building on 810 Orchard Drive was begun in September of 1986 and completed in May of 1987. Pastor Springer retired in 2001, and i n the early months of 2007, the Chambersburg Bible Church extended a call to Pastor Gary Yoder to become the new Pastor of the church.
