My Santa business began over ten years ago known as Originals By Cheryl & Deanna. Beginning in 2004 Cheryl has retired from the business. My new business name is Originals By Deanna Brenner. I plan on making Santa's for many years to come.
I have been married to my husband, John, for 25 years. We have three children, two girls, Jessica and Katie, and a boy, David. We live in Newcastle, California, a rural community in the Sierra foothills.
My love for making Santa's all started with a picture I saw in a magazine. I fell in love with it, and knew I could make one just like it! I went to the craft store and bought a Santa head and all the things I thought I needed. After reading the article in the magazine, I decided that I would try sculpting the head out of clay instead. It took me many hours before he was finished, but it was a lot of fun. I got so many compliments, that I started making more. I gave them away to friends and family. Then I started going to local boutiques and selling them. Since then, I have taken many sculpting, and doll making classes.
