China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Xiamen Corporation (CATICXM) was established in 1981 with the registered capital of RMB 50 million. Currently it has 99 employees. CATICXM is a wholly owned subsidiary of China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC). Backed up by the solid aviation industry of China, CATIC has become a large multinational conglomerate engaging in a variety of business, ranging from manufacturing to merchandise trading, real estate, projects contracting, financing, leasing, and etc. By the end of the 2000, the accumulated international trade amount reached US$15.7 billion, firmly holding its position in the first 20 places among the nation's top 500 trading companies. It currently owns standard workshop of 46, 000 square meters, office building of 6, 700 square meters and residential building of 27,000 square meters. In terms of the international trading, CATICXM has independently developed export project of shipbuilding and shipbuilding machinery and has firmly held the dominant position in the trading of automobile parts, power tools, mini machinery, hardware, apparatus and meters, and gardening and farming machines.
