A recent development has been the production of mathematics posters by Mathsoul having the purpose of marketing the study of mathematics to students, rather than the teaching mathematics itself. As such these math posters & maths posters feature compeling images of classroom mathematics in use by young adult role models - helping them to succeed in their everyday jobs.

Arguably the most famous and perhaps best internationally known mathematics posters are the London Underground posters, produced for display in trains in the London Underground for World Mathematical Year 2000 by the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences.

Another series of well known posters are those from Peter Jipsen at Chapman University available to download and print.

Some may take the view that printed posters in classrooms are being overtaken by electronic communication devices in education. At this stage however there is nothing that can come close to the cost and communicaiton effectiveness of printed posters in the classroom, especially when integrated with other learning media. The ongoing abundance of advertising hoardings beside freeways and motorways attests to the power of posters to change attitudes and perhaps also to educate.
