REVIEW OF CATABOLIC

The Catabolic Diet is marketed as being “the diet that works three times faster than starvation.” The diet claims to be medically created, resulting in “substantial weight loss.” The diet can be ordered for $19.95 and the materials will be delivered to your door. though the Web site does not reveal specifics about the diet, further research indicates the Catabolic Diet was introduced by Dr. Victor Lindlahr in 1935.

REVIEW OF Catabolic Diet

Clearly, this is a diet plan which will not have any ingredients, however, we will thoroughly review the concepts used in this plan to see if it can really create weight loss in users. The theory behind this diet is that consumption of foods that require more calories to digest than the amount of calories contained in them will use more energy, and hence should slow the rate of fat conversion. The principle is “net gain” versus “net loss” – the more you burn, the less you store and vice versa. The diet aims to provide a net loss. Some of the foods that may be included in this diet are simple fruits, vegetables, beef and seafood. Breads and pastas do not appear on the “catabolic” food list. From the little information we can gather, the diet seems to be mainly plant-based, encouraging consumption of large quantities of raw fruits and vegetables, very little protein, and no dairy, whole grains, or processed sugars. Again, we cannot ascertain that this menu will merely last a week, in which case it could be a beneficial cleanse, or if it continues for a month, which would be somewhat harmful. Fruits contain high levels of fructose, which could still be converted to fat if not expended.
