Mary Fondren was born in North Carolina in a family of doctors –– Dad was an internist, and a brother an orthopedic surgeon. Mary Fondren was always attracted to the medical field. After graduating from the University of North Carolina, she enrolled in the North Carolina State veterinary school. Then moved to South Florida in 1987 after working at several local clinics she eventually opened her first animal clinic, which she sold in 1995. In February of 1997 She opened her doors under the name of Fondren Pet Care Center, located on Burns Road in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
