- The Grottaglie dairy has it's origins in the post-war period when young Vito Contento began delivering milk - produced by the family's agricultural company - to various shops in Taranto. Despite the city being 20 km from his town, Vito rode there on his bicycle every day, twice a day, delivering two milk churns. Soon, the bike was replaced by a motorbike, then a car and after that a van and so on.
