Casa Dolce was born just a little over two 1/2 years ago in the small but constantly growing town of Port Moody, B.C. Our homemade, artisan-style gelato was first being sold in a small corner of our family bakery, but the demand for our product grew rapidly, therefore sparking the idea and creation of a shop dedicated to authentic Italian gelato.
Casa Dolce was started by the Pero family of Coquitlam, B.C. Due to the overwhelming success of the first shop a second shop was opened in Langley, B.C. as well as a third shop in Coquitlam, B.C. Paolo Pero, the youngest of the Pero sons, has maintained a passion for creating this delicious, high quality treat. He began to fulfill his passion by training in the Northern Italian town of Cesena with one of the oldest and most knowledgeable Italian gelato companies around - Babbi. Every six months or so, Paolo travels to Cesena, Italy for two weeks of solid gelato training. He believes that maintaining the best product is a result of learning from the best. And so, our shop's and the popularity of our authentic Italian gelato continue to flourish. With now over one hundred flavours available to chose from, there's sure to be something for everyone. Even those who have never enjoyed ice cream in the past, have caught on to this old-world invention. Gelato is lower in fat content yet richer in taste - what more is there to love about that really?!
