Description
Eric Ross has been with Carolina Blue since 2000. He started out in the marketing and subscriptions department for the magazine. Ross started CarolinaBlue.com shortly after his arrival and the site has grown into the best source for UNC recruiting content on the web today. In 2003, Ross was named Senior Editor of Carolina Blue magazine. His primary duties today include staffing Carolina Blue magazine and website, designing the magazine, and working on the business aspects of the company. Prior to joining Carolina Blue, Ross worked for TotalSports, where he was the desk editor for over twenty official university and conference websites including SECSports.com. Ross has also covered the NCAA tournament for the NCAA website and led a team of photographers at the events in 1999. Ross is a 1999 graduate of The Univerity of North Carolina. Evan Markfield, who has been covering UNC sports since 1997, joined Carolina Blue in 2001. A native of Commack, N.Y., Markfield worked at The Times-News in Burlington, N.C., and Goheels.com before joining the CB staff. A 2000 graduate of UNC-CH, Markfield covered Carolina sports at The Daily Tar Heel while in school. He has also done freelance work for The Associated Press, Miami Herald, Baltimore Sun, and several other daily newspapers. [evan@carolinablue.com]
Ryan Bartow, an award-winning journalist with more than five years of newspaper experience in Wisconsin, joined the staff at CarolinaBlue.com in July of 2005. His responsbilities will focus on basketball and football recruiting, as well as coverage of UNC's football and basketball programs. He worked in a dual capacity as the Sports Editor of the Hartford Times Press and a sports writer for the West Best Daily News, before moving to North Carolina. Prior to that he was a sports writer for the Oshkosh Northwestern. Bartow also worked as the Assistant Sports Editor for the Beaver Dam Daily Citizen and a sports reporter for the Fond du Lac Reporter. [ryan@rivals.com]
