Carol Weston grew up in Armonk, New York. She went to Byram Hills High School and spent twelfth grade in Rennes, France with School Year Abroad. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa summa cum laude from Yale University with a degree in comparative literature, and has her M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury. She and her husband playwright Rob Ackerman have two daughters and live in Manhattan. She is the author of four Melanie Martin novels for kids, six advice books for teens, one nonfiction book for adults and one memoir (From Here to Maternity). Her first book, Girltalk, has been in print since 1985; it is now in its fourth edition and has been translated into many languages. She loves cards, cats, and chocolate chip cookies.
