“White, brown, and blue,” those were the only colours Carol Breen, Visual Artist, was told she would need when she moved to Ft. McMurray, Alberta. She quickly proved that statement wrong.
“I use more green, living here,” says Breen. “Spring is so green in the Boreal forest. The contrasts of the seasons deliver rich combinations of texture and colour that are the source of much of my inspiration,” Breen continues. Add the magic of the Northern Lights and it’s easy to see why “colour-lover” Breen is happy living in Ft. McMurray.
“My work is a celebration of putting things together, organized to make a statement,” declares Breen of her imaginative and boldly colourful paintings. “Colour is joyful. That’s how I feel when I use it,” states Breen.
