Carolingua was founded by Carolina Perez-Venero, B.S., M.B.A., a native and fluent speaker of English, French, and Spanish. Superior linguistic quality. Market research and business communications must be clear, precise, and concise in order to effectively get their point across while projecting a professional image. Our goal is to produce translations that sound as if they were originally written in the target language and that are credible to your audience. Being a native speaker in both the source language and the target language is particularly advantageous: the ability to correctly interpret the source text enables the translator to preserve its exact meaning, and the ability to "think" in the target language enables the translator to deliver a natural-sounding translation (avoiding literal or word-for-word translations, which can be stilted and even nonsensical). However being fluent in the languages is not enough—a translator should be a good writer so as to produce a polished and professional text. Furthermore, a translator should have an insider's knowledge of the subject at hand, preferably supported with practical experience. Combining the above, Carolingua guarantees you an "intelligent" translation—one that is well written, fluent, accurate, and optimally adapted to your particular needs.
Cost-effectiveness. Most translators charge by the word or by the page. They count every word, even when words are repeated in the same document. They count every page, even when the page is not full of text. An hourly rate is more cost-effective for you when the translator is skilled and efficient, as well as when the documents contain repeating words and phrases. An hourly rate also takes into account the technical difficulty involved: when a text or part of a text is less technical and takes less time, you are charged less.
