C.A.R.E. - Cat/Canine Assistance, Referral & Education - Home
Description
For every pet cherished in a secure home, one hundred more roam homeless, hungry and frightened until they succumb to malnutrition, disease, speeding vehicles or worse fates. A lucky few are rescued by caring humans who work at what can be a lonesome, stressful job.
Referral & Education We act as an information resource regarding all animals. We provide educational material regarding animals and especially work to promote longer, more loving relationships between people and their pets through improved understanding. We share the knowledge we've gained with other rescuers as well as just plain, morale support!
A Rescuer's Dream ...is to one day open a cageless shelter, where abandoned pets can live, well-fed and well-loved until the right adopter comes along. And now we are living that dream, as we work to set up our sanctuary for the little ones we've saved, including the "survivors" - originally 300 some cats and dogs who were taken by the Dept. Of Animal Services from a local private shelter. There had been more than twice that number, but hundreds had been euthanized before we were able to step in. These little guys have been to hell and back and we've given them our pledge of safety and freedom from hunger, pain and fear for the rest of their lives. It's a formidable undertaking we've embarked on, so we really need all the help we can get.
...$500.00 will pay a part of our veterinarian bill for 1 month (Remember - the survivors have lived through an animal's holocaust and many have come to us with unattended health problems.)
