In the summer of 1989, four close friends, who at one time had also been neighbors and frequently played golf together, arranged to play a round the weekend of the 4th of July at Ingleside Golf Course in Thorndale, PA. While we didn’t really need an excuse to play golf together, we said it was in honor of my birthday, which is the 3rd of July. That foursome, which later came to be known as The Gruesome Foursome, included myself, Harry Charlesen, Kevin Paugh and Scott Osborn.
