Capital Cruises is home of the Pride & Joy, the Largest Electric Boat in the Country and our now famous Sunset Bat Watching excursion. Established in 1991, we are nestled on the shores of beautiful Town Lake at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. We offer lunch and dinner cruises (including the Honeymoon Bat Watching Dinner Cruise), internationally famous bat watching excursions both public and private (as seen in Newsweek and on the Today Show, American Journal, the Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, the Leisure Channel, and Jim Swift’s “On The Porch”), sightseeing tours, party boat services and the ultimate alternative, for group and corporate events, outings and picnics. We have hosted events for many visitors and families in Austin and just about every major company in central Texas (most of the small ones too). We have a mix of services that will meet the requirements of any occasion.
Our dinner cruises and excursions are currently provided for groups of two to 140 people (larger groups can be accommodated with a group outing or multiple boats). Our excursions are an excellent alternative meeting, mixer or event site. Our comfortably finished boats are quiet, clean and THE ONLY ENVIRONMENTALLY-SENSITIVE BOATING OPTION ON THE HIGHLAND LAKES! All of our craft are electric powered; this allows us to provide vestiges of Austin from a unique perspective while maintaining the beauty and ecological balance of Town Lake.
Some of the highlights of our cruises include the internationally famous Congress Avenue Bats, the downtown Austin sky line, the Zilker Park Barton Springs corridor and the gorgeous limestone bluffs west of Mopac. Our cruises are also surrounded by an exciting variety of flora and fauna including numerous migratory waterfowl, black and white swans and the striking trees and shrubs inspired by Lady Bird Johnson. The Town Lake area has a unique history all it's own and is a truly interesting back drop for any event.
