About CalnTownship.org

Nearly 75 years before the Declaration of Independence was conceived, settlers from Calne, England were declaring their own independence in the heart of what is today Chester County, Pennsylvania. Their settlement was "namesaked" Caln, one of the original settlements in Chester County. By 1868 five other townships, the Borough of Downingtown and the City of Coatesville were molded out of this area and today's township boundaries were established.
