I've been a troubled sleeper for as long as I can remember. Left to my own devices, I just wake up randomly throughout the night. I guess it must be outside noise. I've also always lived in cities, so there's plenty of that. It wasn't until I was out on my own and in my early twenties that a girlfriend at the time suggested I look for a sound machine for sale and give that a try. I resisted it at first. I didn't think it would help at all.
