Brandon “The Truth” Vera, due to fight in UFC 105 against Randy Couture, began his passion for mixed martial arts in his teen years where he wrestled for his local high school, Lake Taylor High in Norfolk, Virginia. He there earned a four-year athletic scholarship to Dominion University. After a year and a half though, he then decided college wasn’t for him and dropped out. Vera enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he joined their wrestling team.
