Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, Vincent is the son of immigrants from Taiwan. He began his career in public service as a volunteer tutor while attending Harvard College. He was later elected President of the Phillips Brooks House Association, Harvard’s undergraduate center for community service and social action.

Vincent was the co-founder and first executive director of Heads Up, a $3.5 million nonprofit in Washington, DC that provides low-income children with after-school and summer tutoring and mentoring in reading, math, and other subjects.

While in DC, Vincent served on the DC Mayor’s Committee on Board of Education Appointments and on the boards of numerous organizations, including Advocates for Justice and Education, DC Agenda, The Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington and DC Action for Children. He was recognized by Washington Business Forward magazine as one of the “Next Network of 40 Leaders,” by the Wall Street Journal as one of the “Faces of a New Generation,” as one of the “100 to Watch in 21st Century” by Washingtonian Magazine, and as one of the “20 Asian-Americans to Watch in 21st Century” by A. Magazine.
