CV Travel has been offering some of the world's most sought-after villas since it was founded in 1972. It has twice won Condé Nast Traveler reader awards. CV Travel is a specialist upmarket tour operator offering villa holidays in the Mediterranean and beyond. The company was founded in 1972 by Patricia and Richard Cookson when it featured only villas in Corfu.
During the 1980s the company grew to offer rental properties across the Greek Islands and in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ibiza. It changed its name to CV Travel, and today it features Morocco, the Caribbean, the UK and destinations in Asia and Middle East, with a total of more than 800 villas.
Awards
The company's emphasis has always been on discovering exclusive individual properties, all with private swimming pools, rather than bland lookalike developments. In this way it has acquired a loyal clientele and won a number of awards.
In 2007, it was voted Best Villa Rental Company by readers of Conde Nast Traveller magazine with an overall approval rating of 87.79%. In the following year it was runner-up with a rating of 87.57%. In 2009, it returned to first place with a score of 87.62%.
Growth
CV Travel was acquired by Kuoni Travel in 2007 but retains its unique character and independent management. It has a sister company, Ski Verbier, which offers upmarket chalets in the Swiss resort of Verbier.
