- Tom Sawyer received his BA degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas in 2001. Immediately thereafter he moved to Austin, Texas where he started his practice in landscape design. Even though he loves landscape design, he soon realized that it wasn’t the best fit for his long-term business goals. He easily moved into the homebuilding business, where he supervised the construction of over 100 homes in and around the greater Austin area. In 2005, Tom built a spacious custom home in the Westcliffe area, which brought him to the Arkansas River Valley, and Wet Mountain Valley areas. With the abundance of beauty, recreational activities, and a great community, Tom decided to move to Salida and work in the real estate business. Soon after practicing in the Salida area, Tom saw an opportunity in Buena Vista where he now works and lives.
