In December, 2000, BTI entered into a strategic alliance with PicoStar, LLC, a technology investment company specializing in advanced communications and media technology for the internet. PicoStar will license the BTI technology and BTI products.
Basic Telepresence, Inc., incorporated in 1996, specializing in enabling live video over the Internet. BTI systems allow "telepresence", the capability to view anything, anywhere in the world, and to remotely control the camera (pan, tilt and zoom) over the Internet through a standard web browser. BTI offers hardware and software solutions, which have been tailored to meet the specific requirements of industrial, new media, and commercial applications.
BTI pioneered the development of an integrated system of hardware and software for controlling video cameras over the Internet, including a patented pan-tilt design to move the cameras. The Company's proprietary software suite includes video server software to capture the video images, relay server software to distribute video images to multiple viewers, and software to control the cameras remotely. An array of additional features have been developed for the industrial and media applications, including point and click controls, creation of preset views and multiple image panoramas for positioning, image storage and retrieval, queuing system for camera control, security and password protected access, the ability to specify transmission rates, image size and picture quality.
