Bahrain Training Institute was formed in August, 1992 with the objective of providing high quality training that meets the needs of the manufacturing, process, construction, commercial and service industries. It is a semi-autonomous training organisation established by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to serve the human resource development needs of the kingdom of Bahrain. The BTI operates under the overall umbrella and policies of the High Council for Vocational Training, chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. Development of specific training policies and their monitoring is the responsibility of the BTI Board of Directors, chaired by the Assistant Under Secretary for Training of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and consisting of representatives of government, commercial, industrial, education and training sectors.
