The Brooktrails Township Community Services District ("Brooktrails" or "the District") is a general law, multi-purpose community services special district formed in 1975. Brooktrails is governed by a five-member Board of Directors elected at large, and managed by General Manager Mike Chapman, who supervises 10 employees. The District provides water, sewer, fire protection and recreation services and facilities to Brooktrails. Brooktrails was the first special district in California to undertake community planning on its own behalf, and its Specific Plan has been adopted by the County of Mendocino.
