Brokercom’s activities include the development and licensing of intellectual property relating to groupware and team collaboration. In April 2001, involv International Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brokercom, was awarded US Patent 6,223,177, entitled “Network Based Groupware System.” In July 2005, Brokercom was awarded US Patent 6,917,962, entitled "Web-Based Groupware System."
Brokercom has teamed with two outside firms to maximize the value of its groupware-related intellectual property. Brokercom is now making US Patents 6,223,177, 6,917,962 and related intellectual property available for licensing, and licenses can be obtained through Brokercom’s licensing agent, Syndia Licensing Co. Further, Brokercom intends to address, either through licensing or litigation, all unauthorized infringement of its patents, under direction of its legal counsel, Winston & Strawn. This team is committed to the commercialization of the company’s groupware and collaboration inventions for the benefit of Brokercom and its licensees.
