British Eco was started in 2002 by Nick Pringle, 29 with the aim of being one of the UK's leading suppliers of solar powered, garden, eco friendly and outdoor products. Since it started the business has experienced fast growth and is evolving quickly. The 4,500th customer was served online in October 2005.

After gaining a degree in Environmental Management in Manchester, Nick worked at Carlton TV in Sales and Lastminute.com as a copywriter in London. It was at Lastminute during a lunchbreak during the dotcom boom that he registered the web address with a vague idea of what it would sell.

On 1st June 2006, Andrew Moore's company Fab Price Ltd. took ownership of British Eco from Nick. Andrew has first hand experience of environmental issues after working in Zimbabwe and Bangladesh for humanitarian NGOs and charities. Andrew hopes to build and develop Nick's idea into a unique place for all things "eco".
