The British Mycological Society (BMS) was founded in 1896 and has some 2000 members from many countries around the world, reflecting its international status. Its sole objective is to promote mycology in all its aspects. This is achieved by:
Meetings and Symposia with international programmes, including a Young Mycologists' Meeting and the Berkeley Award Lecture which is given by a professional member of 35 years or younger
Journals and other publications, including Mycological Research, Mycologist, Field Mycology, all published by Cambridge University Press and a quarterley Newsletter called MycologistNews
