Description

130 years of malting tradition

Briess Malt & Ingredients Company is celebrating its 130th anniversary in 2006 with the release of Briess(r) Anniversary Malt at the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo in Seattle, April 12-14. The CBC is the major annual conference and trade show of the Brewers Association, the trade organization of the American craft brewing industry. The CBC draws brewers and industry experts from many of the 1,400-plus microbreweries throughout the United States.

Produced from 2-Row Moravian barley, Briess(r) Anniversary Malt is a light-colored, mild flavored, low protein pilsener-style malt reminiscent of malts originally produced at the Briess family's Czechoslovakian malthouse. Moravian is historically the preferred barley for lager beer, and Briess(r) Anniversary Malt holds true to that tradition. It has a clean, delicately malty flavor with subtle sweetness. It produces smooth wort with low astringency. Low in protein, it is characterized by very plump kernels. Briess(r) Anniversary Malt is suitable as the base malt for any beer style.

Briess also produces several product lines of value-added natural sweeteners and grain ingredients developed specifically to add flavor, color and function to foods and beverages including bagels, bars, baked goods, cereal, crackers, granola, herbal teas, pizza crust, tortillas and snack foods. In 2006, Briess ingredients for food will be featured at the 2006 Natural Products West Show in Anaheim and the 2006 IFT Food Expo in Orlando.
