- My interest in photography was first sparked as a teenager, with the gift of a 1971 Canon FTB from my father. Its full manual controls forced me to learn the art of exposure and light. I particularly enjoy black and white photography as it forces you to focus on the composition and texture of the image rather than its color. I remember in high school I inherited an enlarger from my uncle and created a darkroom in my families bathroom. I spent quite a few hours under red lights kneeling next to the tub developing many badly composed pictures. Only through trial and error did I finally find my eye for photography.
