Description
The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, also known as the Ontario Humane Society, is a registered charitable organization operating on the principle that no one has the right to cause physical or mental pain or suffering to any animal.
The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Honourable Hilary Weston, is our patron. We are a member of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies and the World Society for the Protection of Animals. We are also affiliated with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in England.
Provincial Offence Officers enforce bylaws in the City pertaining to animals. This does NOT include barking dogs which is a violation of the Anti-Noise Bylaw that is enforced by the police department.
