About Branimir Gjetvaj
Branimir Gjetvaj is a Saskatchewan-based photographer who specializes in western Canadian landscapes. Travel and photography are Branimir's passions - his specialty is outdoor and nature photography. He has been recording images of wild places for over twenty five years, and traveled extensively throughout North America for the last eighteen.
Branimir obtained a degree in biology from the University of Zagreb (Zagreb, Croatia) and worked for a few years at the Croatian Museum of Natural History in Zagreb. Since arriving to Canada in 1987. he received a Master's degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, and a Ph.D. from Queen's University in Kingston. He currently works
Branimir dedicated his work to promoting the appreciation and protection of natural environments. Through his photography and lectures, Branimir tries to engage people to explore the wonders of the natural world, and raise their awareness of what we need to do to protect it. He frequently contributes his photographic skills to local conservation organizations and groups involved in environmental education. In 2005 Branimir accepted a volunteer position of the Education Director with Nature Saskatchewan.
