Description
I lived in Leamington until 1989 and was an avid supporter of AP Leamington from the early 80s until the demise of the Windmill Ground. Me and my dad would buy our programme from the old mechandise shed and then take our seats in the old wooden stand at the changing rooms end.
I now live in Portsmouth but once I learned of Leamington FC's return I was keen to keep up-to-date with their progress. Originally this was through the now defunct "official" site. Peter Davis (the official site author) was struggling to keep it going so I decided to set up my own, getting information from what few sites there were around that catered for Midland Combination teams, and taking a huge slice of inspiration from Peter's original layout and ideas. I then stumbled upon the North Bank Banter and FOLFC sites and decided to dedicate this more to Leamington FC from the past (AP/Lockheed/etc) - as the other two sites do a much better job of keeping up to date. Now we have BrakingNews added to the "fold" too (and hopefully Peter's new Official Site) so Leamington fan's have a wealth of places to seek out news and information. Also, being on the south coast isn't the best place to keep up to date with all the gossip so if I just concentrate on old stuff I can spend more time on the beach.
I occasionally visit the New Windmill, though for my sins I'm now a Portsmouth season ticket holder too so don't make it as much as possible. But if you see a ginger haired chap sitting in the Sheepside looking confused as to which player is which come and say hello!
