- Todd Bracken began working in his fathers jewelry store in 1968 at age 9. As official Illinois Central Railroad watch inspector the Bracken store was always dealing with high-grade watches and the successful reputation soon grew to include fine gems and jewelry. Working after school Todd helped with all facets of the family business including watch and jewelry repairs to management. After high school he came to California to complete the Gemological Institute of America Gemology in Residence Program at age 17, and returned to Illinois to manage the family store for two years. California became home in 1980 when Todd went to work in the G.I.A. laboratory in charge of certificating some of the most rare and important diamonds in the world. Leaving there a diamond-grading expert, he worked for two exclusive Santa Monica jewelers until 1984 when he had the opportunity to buy "Harry's Jewelers" a downtown Santa Monica landmark of over 30 years. The rest is history. Through the years the reputation and location of the store has helped to build the successful world-class business with very famous and international clients.
