Dr. Ralph grew up in Post Falls, Idaho after his father's retirement from the Air Force. He graduated valedictorian from Lakeland High School in 1986 and began his college career at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Ralph worked hard and graduated summa cum laude as a chemistry major. After volunteering for an orthodontist in San Diego, he became intrigued by the dental profession. Dr. Ralph envisioned dentistry fitting his people oriented personality and his desire to work with his hands. His next decision was to attend the University of Michigan, known for its fine dentistry program. Dr. Ralph again graduated valedictorian, this time of his dental school class, and remained at the University of Michigan to study orthodontics because of its world-renowned reputation and well-rounded programs offered. His Master of Science degree in orthodontics was awarded after the successful completion of his thesis entitled, “A Comparison of Two Rapid Maxillary Expansion Appliances Using Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis.” After graduation, the pull of the great Northwest brought Dr. Ralph back to the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area.
Dr. Ralph loves to spend time with his son, Max. He also enjoys outdoor adventure. He loves to ski/snowboard, mountain bike, water ski/wakeboard, hike/backpack and fly fish. (Make sure to ask him if he has hurt himself on his snowboard lately.)
