TDEScipher was introduced in September, 1998. TDEScipher implements both the Data Encryption Standard (DES), and the Triple Data Encryption Algorithm (TDEA) as defined by FIPS PUB 46-3 (ANSI X9.52). The TDEA implementation gives TDEScipher users easy access to the strongest cryptographic security available today. TDEScipher is available as 16- and 32-bit DLLs, and as an ActiveX control.
