Back in 1977 all we had was a beat-up 40’ Newporter Ketch, an idea to write a book about celestial navigation and a desire to make movies. By 1979 the book was finished ("Celestial Navigation for Dummies"), the boat was fully restored and we also had a 5-ton grip and light truck (motion picture equipment) which we rented out to companies engaged in making movies, under our newly formed corporation: Magic Lamp Boat, Book and Bulb Company.
In 1981 we shot our first video on Celestial Navigation and thereby started the educational Nautical Video industry in the United States. Now, 20 years after our main dream came into being, we are marketing over 30 of our own productions as well as videos produced by friends of ours in the industry - and we’re pleased to announce that we’ve just been chosen by Raytheon Marine Electronics to do the authorized Video Operation Guides for their various new boating products. We shot the first one already on their new "side-looking" fishfinder.

We’ve been an authorized credit card merchant for MasterCard and Visa for over 15 years: our productions are now distributed in 18 countries around the world and most titles are also available in the PAL format. Many of our boating videos are used for instruction by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marines, Observatories, Sailing Schools, U.S. Power Squadron, U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary, and in places and countries we don’t even know about yet.
